Our 8.18-million-gallon Treatment Plant is located on Log College Drive. It is an advanced activated sludge facility that utilizes both mechanical and biological process to discharge a high-quality effluent to the Little Neshaminy Creek. Biosolids produced at the wastewater plant are thickened, digested, and dewatered to reduce organics to a level they can be utilized as fertilizer on approved farms. In addition, approximately 200,000 gallons a day of high-quality effluent is pumped to Five Ponds Golf Course for irrigation.
Plant processes include:
- Screening and grit removal
- Primary settling tanks
- Secondary biological activated sludge treatment
- Ultraviolet disinfection
- Primary and secondary sludge thickening
- Anerobic digestion
- Centrifuge dewateringImage
